Steps

  1. Cream butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and salt. Stir in flour. Chill for 1 hour. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased sheet. Press 1 chocolate star into the center of each ball. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
