1 cup sugar 3/4 cup vinegar 1 tsp. salt 3/4 cup salad oil 1 tsp. celery seed 1 small onion (grated) 1 1/2 cup mayonnaise

Combine sugar, vinegar, and salt and bring to a boil. Simmer a few minutes and add salad oil, celery seed, and onion. Beat with an egg beater and store in the refrigerator. Makes 1 quart.
