Paper-Mache

Solberg Family Recipes · Chris Solberg's library

Steps

  1. Mix flour and water in a large bowl (2 cups of each is a good amount to start with) until it makes a smooth paste.
  2. Dip newspaper strips, one at a time, into the paste and remove excess paste with your fingers. Lay coated strips onto the form to be papier-mâchéd.
  3. Smooth out wrinkles and continue layering strips until the surface is completely covered. Allow it to dry completely.
  4. When dry, paint your design with acrylic or poster paint and decorate with craft supplies.
