Steps

In a 4-quart saucepan, heat corn syrup, sugar, and water. When the syrup boils, blend in the butter and let it melt. Stir frequently after the temperature reaches 280 degrees. Stir in peanuts and continue stirring constantly until the temperature reaches 305 degrees or the hard crack stage. Remove from heat and stir in soda. Pour into two buttered jelly roll pans.
