Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Steps

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter over low heat in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the butter. Arrange pineapple slices over the sugar mixture. Decorate with cherries. Prepare cake batter as per recipe or cake mix package. Pour batter over fruit in the pan.
  2. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Invert at once onto a serving plate or cake pan lid.
