Green Tomato Mincemeat

Ingredients

First Group:

13 lbs. green tomatoes or 1 peck (ground) 5 lbs. sugar 3 lbs. raisins 2 tbsp. ground allspice 2 tbsp. ground cloves 2 tbsp. salt 2 tbsp. cinnamon 1 cup vinegar

Second Group:

15 tart ground apples (unpeeled but cored) 1 lb. beef boiled till cooked 1/2 lb. ground suet

Second Group:

Instructions

Measure the juice from the tomatoes and use half as much water, discarding the juice. Boil together the first group of ingredients until soft. Add the second group of ingredients. Boil until thick enough for a pie. Bring all to a boil. Put in sterile jars and seal with lids and rings.
